The story behind the photography
The green terraces of the Andes are not the first natural wonder we see on our hike, but they are probably one of the most impressive. Also known as the granary of the ancient pre-Inca peoples, they extend over the steep mountain slopes in considerable size and give us only an idea of how closely connected the inhabitants of that time were with their nature. The sun and the strenuous climb do not leave us unscathed either, but we have no doubt about the efforts the ancestors of the Incas must have had to make to cultivate their land.
