The story behind the photography
Because I wanted to give a very special person a very special treat, I surprised him on his birthday with a mangrove boat tour at sunset. A traditional fishing boat, the Ngalawa, was waiting for us on the beach and took us to a nearby mangrove forest. Barefoot, we explored the sandbanks and gained insights into the characteristic features of the special ecosystem. At the end, we were able to admire the setting evening sun and the gentle waves arm in arm.
